Jacie Brown, PhD

Dr. Jacie Brown earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University, where she also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. During her graduate school experience, her training was focused on working within the criminal justice system and with justice involved individuals. Dr. Brown holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Ferris State University, where she graduated magna cum laude, with honors.

Dr. Brown has completed rigorous, hands-on clinical and forensic training. Her experience includes a forensic psychology internship with Rutgers University Health Sciences, where she provided psychological services in maximum-security and psychiatric prison units. She has conducted comprehensive assessments, individual therapy, group facilitation, and risk evaluations with individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. She went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in forensic evaluation.

As a forensic psychology postdoctoral fellow and current forensic evaluator, Dr. Brown has specialized in psycholegal evaluations for both adults and youth. She has performed competency evaluations, violence and sexual recidivism risk assessments, mitigation, and mental state at the time of offense (MSO) evaluations. Her commitment to culturally informed, evidence-based practice is further reflected in her extensive assessment skills, including the administration of evidence based tools.

Her dissertation focused on suicide risk in law enforcement, and she has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. She has taught graduate-level courses in risk assessment . Dr. Brown continues to lead and collaborate on research related to suicide prevention, risk management, and forensic assessment, particularly among first responders and justice-involved populations.

Dr. Brown also brings robust experience in psychological assessment across diverse populations and clinical settings. Throughout her doctoral training and professional roles, she has conducted psychological evaluations for individuals with a wide range of cognitive, developmental, and psychiatric conditions. Her work includes extensive training in both outpatient and inpatient environments. She has also conducted evaluations for ADHD, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegenerative conditions.

Her diagnostic psychological work is grounded in evidence-based practice and guided by a deep understanding of cultural and contextual variables. She has provided comprehensive feedback and written reports for diverse referral questions, including diagnostic clarification, IEPs and educational planning, and forensic risk assessment.
